Whats New - KADIC acquires state of the art X-ray machine

Kadic Hospital Bukoto has acquired a state of the art digital spot floroscopy imager working in consort with a dry laser imager (printer) which means that the need for darkroom will be reduced to 10%.

The new machine is called  Diagnost 97 made by Phillips of Netherlands.
"With this acquisition, ungeographical investigations of brain, heart, and major vessels of the body will be possible as well as the usual investigations requiring floroscopy i.e. all barium studies" says Prof. Henry Kasozi the Medical Director.

He says that this machine the first of its kind in Uganda has advantages over other X-ray machines in that it is a remote controlled
multifunctionality radiographical and floroscopy machine which reduces on
staffing requirements and increases patient throughput. This means that patients' waiting time will be drastically reduced.

Using a dry laser printer, Xray images are initially captured and stored.
The floroscopy images are fast recorded by an optical disk which allows the images to be formatted in a computer and those for printing be selected.

It is now one month since the new machine started working. Professor Kasozi further says that after taking xray images one can work on them on a computer to choose the ones to be printed while on the other hand the other radiographer is carrying out investigations.
