In the field of imaging, KADIC recently acquired a state of the art Siemens Sonoline G60S Ultrasound system.
With the multifunctionality applications including the abdomen, cardiac, Obstetrics/Gynaecology, small parts, endorectal for the prostate and endovaginal for monitoring growth of human eggs within the ovary, vascular paediatric and general medicine.


The 3D Ultrasound Machine at Kadic Health ServicesThis machine is equipped with six wind band transducers for the various applications as well as 3D, 4D transducer for better acquisition of feutal images.The coloured printer option is a feature that enhances the physical appearance of the feutal images and indeed cherished by mothers on antenatal checkups. "These images can be stored onto a CD or DVD and be shared with friends and other medical speacialists over the internet" notes Prof. Kasozi.
This machine has been in existance for the last three months. It is serving to the expectations of the hospital medical team and staff at KADIC are learning to put it to optimal utilization.
Cardiologists, general physicians and obstetricians have eargerly embraced it. Cardiologists also find reasy use of ECG equipment which largely complements Echo-Cardiograms at Kadic Hospital Bukoto.
According to the Medical Director, this is the second type of such machine in Uganda.
Other diagnostic support systems at KADIC Hospital include, Endoscopy imaging, Laparascopy, CT Scan and expanded laboratory services.
Kadic has also acquired new monitoring equipment for surgical theatres and monitoring of women in labour has also been acquired.
Four fulltime resident specialists have been recruited in the areas of:
1. Paediatrics
2. General Surgery
3. Obstetrics and Gynaecology
4. Radiology
There is also availability of a large number of visiting consultants in all specialities.
Currently patients can call for help using an intercom-system in the wards and in corridors.
